Bala is an optimistic, comedy film with a social message conveying “Bald is beautiful” and written by Niven Bhatt, Pavel Bhattacharjee and directed by Amar Kaushik.. The movie is about a young guy played by Ayushman Khurana, suffering from premature balding and his struggle with the societal pressure and the lack of confidence followed by it.
The movie focuses on the hypocrite society with their double standards on what is considered to be the acceptable beauty standards. The movie is about insecurities, society’s stereotypical beauty standards and is well blended with a proper balance of situational humour.
The story is about accepting oneself with all the flaws and having a positive outlook towards life with a proper blend of comedy and excellent performances.
Bala won ETC Bollywood Business Awards 2020, for The 100 Crore Club and Screen Awards 2020 in the best Actor comedian category for Yami Gautam. It also received 3 nominations at 65 th Filmfare Awards in Best Actor category, Best Supporting actress and Best Dialogue.
