About The Project
Bharat is a movie about the life of a young boy named Bharat set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak partition. It was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar with Salman Khan and Katrina in its lead roles. It’s a remake of the South Korean film Ode to my Father, 2014. The film takes you through the journey of Bharat while the director tries to keep the narrative engaging that travels through a period of over 6 decades and the various challenges the protagonist of the film has to go through. It’s a story about a young boy who is separated from his father and sister during the infamous India-Pakistan partition in 1947 and the struggle he faces to keep the promise he made to his father of keeping his family safe and together against all odds with the only hope that someday his family will reunite.
Bharat movie won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in the Best Actor Category – Salman, while Katrina was nominated for Best Female Actor. The movie also received the Mirchi Music Awards 2020, for Upcoming Make Vocalist of the Year- Abhijeet Srivastava for Chashni and won a couple of other nominations too for Best Music Album, Best Playback Singer Male and Female, by Filmfare Awards.
