About The Project
Malaal is a remake of Selvaraghavan’s 7G Rainbow Colony, a 2004 Tamil original film. It’s a romantic story about a rowdy boy born and raised in the chawls of Mumbai, having all traits of a typical bad boy with the habits of gambling, drinking and being a local goon falling in love with an educated, well-mannered, independent girl who has just moved into his locality after her family undergoes a financial crisis. The story shows how they try to tackle their own differences coming from different backgrounds and eventually fall in love with each other.
Malaal is directed by Mangesh Hadawale and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and marks the debut of Meezan Jaffrey, son of Javed Jaffarey and Sharmin Sehgal, niece of Bhansali who are seen in the leads. The story is a mix of romance, action, drama, social commentary with moments of fun and
