About The Project
Mom is a movie starring the legendary late Sridevi in her quest to punish the perpetrators who are set free even after committing a heinous crime with her step-daughter. It’s a crime and violence filled thriller story of a mother who is ready to go to any lengths to save her daughter and fight against injustice. Devki, played by Sridevi, seeks help from DK, who is a private detective played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
It’s a story about a gutted mother who takes the matter in her own hands, which is followed by a series of interesting twists and turns making it a complete entertainer.
Mom proved to be a hit at the box-office grossing 175 crore worldwide.
It received two awards at the 65th National Film Awards – Best Actress for Sridevi, marking the first posthumous win in the category and Best Background Score for A.R. Rahman. The film received six nominations, including Best Actress and Best Actress (Critics) for Sridevi and Best Supporting Actor for Siddiqui at the 63rd Filmfare Awards.
