About The Project
Thackeray is a movie based on the life of Maharashtra’s most revered personality, Balasaheb Thackeray. He was undoubtedly a very influential leader of his times and also had an equally controversial life.
This film talks about his journey from being a cartoonist at the Free Press Journal, to being the face of Shiv Sena and the incredible highs and lows of his journey through life.
Nawazuddin did complete justice to the role of the lead, while the movie rightfully depicts his fearless personality and the struggles in his life over the decades.
Directed by Abhijit Panse and written and produced by Sanjay Raut, the movie was made in Hindi and Marathi, languages that appeal to the targeted audience.
The film was released right after the 93rd birthday of the highly admired politician of Mumbai.
